You may have to wait a long time for a decision
One of my clients completed her Personal Independent Payment (PIP) renewal form with me on 5th January 2022. She suffers from learning disabilities and severe mental health disabilities, so any wait for her PIP assessment or award letter is very difficult for her.
It has now been over a year and she has still not heard anything.
Every day since January 2022 she has contacted me for reassurance to know what is happening.
I am chasing the Department for Works and Pensions (DWP), but so far no-one will take ownership of this case. I keep being told it is being looked at. So disappointing.
Due to the way the DWP are handling this case, the client is unable to concentrate on anything else due to her anxiety and disabilities. With this hanging over her, she cannot get on with her life.
I keep telling my client that no news is good news, but she is in a high state of anxiety and cannot understand why she is being treated like this.
I am a big fan of the DWP, but this is not acceptable.
